We are a micro-winery in the hills of the Strezlecki Ranges, South Gippsland.
Everything is tended by hand by us and with the help of family and friends.
THE NAME
anstiga is a derivation of Anstis (family name) and is an old Saxon/English word meaning track or path up a hill. Quite fitting given the dirt track that leads up to the vineyard property.
THE PEOPLE
Jane, Rowan and Obie are the current custodians of a tiny but established vineyard nestled in the Strzlecki Ranges of South Gippsland. The vines were planted in the early 2000s and we are the third caretakers.
Vigneron, Rowan’s journey through wine has been a winding path through hospitality, retail, viticultural study and practice in South Gippsland, then into assistant winemaking in the Macedon Ranges, before arriving back in South Gippsland to work this small block with the help of family and friends.
Jane and Obie are the main assistants and keen learners.
THE WINES
Our grapes are hand-picked and the wines are made with attentiveness, patience and minimal intervention.
2025 Pinot Noir – A lighter style matured in seasoned french oak barrels, showing red summer fruits and just a hint of spice.
2025 Blanc – A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, barrel-fermented with partial malolactic conversion and finished with a bit of lees-stirring. A different way to enjoy Savvy B, with gooseberry, creaminess, citrus and texture.
